Thunder Thighs 1.2

2025

Mixed media sculpture

This sculptural installation explores the female experience through the lens of reclaiming power within traditional feminine aesthetics. It challenges the ways in which women's bodies are read, judged, and labeled—often with contradiction and without consent.

The phrase “thunder thighs” sits at the center of this work: a term that has been used to mock, sexualize, or shame, depending on who’s saying it and why. For some, it signals a problem to be fixed—something to shrink, to hide, to burn away. For others, it becomes a fetish, an object of over-sexualization. But what if it meant none of that? What if thunder thighs simply existed—strong, grounded, unapologetic—and that was enough? By reclaiming the term, the work refuses the narratives of shame and spectacle.
