The Routine

This installation exposes the quiet, often painful realities of disordered eating and fractured relationships with the body—experiences that unfold in silence, hidden within routine and private spaces. Young adults face immense, often contradictory pressures around appearance, behavior, and performance. These expectations are internalized early, creating a rupture between body and mind, hunger and shame, self and performance.

The work brings visibility to what usually stays unseen: the compulsions, the guilt, the secrecy. It’s not a spectacle, but a reckoning. A way to say—this happens, this exists, this has happened to people you know.

By placing private moments in public view, the work challenges the silence that allows harm to persist, and asks us to question what we've been taught to normalize—and what we choose to ignore.
