The painting juxtaposes images of women contorting and bending, visually exploring the physical and metaphorical ways women twist themselves to fit societal expectations. Figures arch backwards, stretch unnaturally, and fold into impossible positions, evoking the pressures of conformity and the body’s negotiation with imposed norms. The work interrogates the tension between self-expression and societal constraints, making visible the strain of expectations placed on women’s bodies and identities.
